For the past few months I have been going through the book of Ezekiel. I used to think that God spoke more in the New Testament through Jesus because of all of the red letters. Now I know that God has been speaking to us ever since we were made and ever since we fell.
While God does bring forth wrath at times, I cannot help but see His desperation. He wants us back and He will keep doing whatever it takes to do so. He wants to claim us. He wants us to know who He really is. There is much love seeping through His words!
For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God. – Ezekiel 36:24-29
Talking with God is so vital in our relationship with Him, but at the same time, we need to hear His voice as well. For a while it was hard for me to understand this part. How does one hear God’s voice? Are they literal words coming out of nowhere as I pray? Is it a thought? Then, once I really requested that God answer my confusion, He made it plain.
God wrote us a letter through the ages. A very long letter. Anything that we are unsure about He has had His people write and protect through history. This love letter I have begun to love and I hope that you, too, find the pages filled with Him calling you to come Home, too. He has the answers. He has solutions. He has the presence you need when words are few. He has the power to heal. He has the power to turn our stone cold hearts to flesh.
If you are needing extra prayer, we are here for you. Through this process I have grown to really appreciate praying for you and it has made my relationship with God deeper. I hope that you are encouraged, renewed, and given a peace that is beyond our understanding. Visit our prayer request page for more information.
Also, after today I will only be posting about prayer once or twice a month instead of every Sunday. Some of us will also be praying more regularly for you, not just on Thursdays. Even if you don’t send us a request, we will be praying for all those pass through these interweb pages. God is good and we can’t stop sharing His love!
