Almost Free Date Ideas

You don’t have to be married, or even dating, to enjoy a date day. You can take yourself or friends on “dates” that are just as fun as they are with a boyfriend, girlfriend, or spouse.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes the penny pincher in me holds me back from getting out as much as I’d like to. Over the years I’ve come up with great date ideas to appease my thrifty ways.

Go Explore a New City

I live in the country so it’s easy to feel like there’s nothing to do in my town. However, it has pushed me to go exploring outside of my town on the weekends. All you need is a car, some good radio tunes, and a sense of adventure. You never know what you might discover!

Thrift Store Board Games

I heard someone say that they love buying thrift store board games because they often have missing pieces. They make it a game to see how inventive they can be with missing pieces. Sounds like hilarious fun!

Have a Photoshoot

You don’t need a fancy camera to go on a little photoshoot. My husband and I do this every once in a while. Even though he hates pictures, he likes having the memories. Devote an afternoon to scoping out a nice spot and take a few pictures, even if it’s with your phone camera on a self timer!

Cook Something New

It’s surprisingly fun to cook with people. Go pick out 3 weird ingredients from the grocery store and see what interesting dish you can make together. I like doing this on weekends when I don’t feel like leaving the house for very long. One time I made the most delicious olive oil and sea salt chocolate cookies!

Do something fun this weekend!
